Job Summary
Ultrasound Tech - Kenner (PRN) position at Ochsner Health performing advanced diagnostic ultrasound procedures in collaboration with staff radiologists. Independently operates ultrasound equipment, verifies orders, ensures diagnostic image quality, and provides patient explanations. Serves as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students. Requires CAHEA-approved diagnostic medical sonography training; RDMS or registry eligibility within 1 year; BLS; ability to work a flexible schedule (including on-call, weekends, holidays). Knowledge of abdominal ultrasound and related anatomy; proficiency with radiology information systems; strong communication skills; commitment to safety and regulatory standards. This role is located in Kenner, LA with on-site responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a CAHEA approved formal training program in diagnostic medical sonography
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or registry eligible (required within 1 year of hire)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
