Job Summary
Produce diagnostic ultrasound procedures on anatomical regions following accepted standards and radiologist protocols under supervision. Maintain a safe environment for patients, conduct necessary patient education, and adhere to quality assurance guidelines while protecting patient confidentiality. Collaborate with care disciplines to ensure safe, efficient, and coordinated patient care. Recognize and assess changes in patient conditions that may indicate life-threatening situations. Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education and utilize established hospital policies. Required Qualifications
- Licensure capable in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Sonographer
- Registered and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiographic Technologists (ARRT) designated ARRT (S), American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) designated RDMS, or equivalent certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
- Ability to accept on-call assignments for regularly scheduled shifts when acuity and/or census indicates the need
- Will be available to report to the facility within 60 minutes of notification
Desired Qualifications
- ARDMS(S) plus ARDS (RVS) and/or RDCS preferred
- At least one year of previous experience in Sonography strongly preferred
