Job Summary
Operate ultrasound and non-invasive vascular equipment to perform diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring safe, accurate, high-quality imaging. Monitor patient condition, document findings, and provide guidance to team members. Maintain equipment readiness and image quality through routine checks, participate in quality improvement and accreditation standards (ICAVL, AIUM), use RIS/PACS systems, manage imaging supplies, participate in department meetings, and pursue ongoing education to maintain certification. Strong communication, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and proficiency in imaging workflow and documentation are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an educational pathway approved by ARDMS
- Certification and registration as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) in Abdomen, OB/GYN, or Vascular Technology
- Must obtain ARDMS certification within 12 months of hire if not already held
- BLS certification required
- Preferred: Certification and registration as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
