Job Summary
Perform diagnostic general and vascular ultrasound examinations, analyze images, and communicate findings to interpreting physicians for diagnosis and treatment. Ensure exam quality and proper equipment operation; assist in surgical procedures as needed; review patient demographics and results; coordinate exams with other departments; provide patient-focused care across age groups and maintain safety standards. Responsibilities include educating and training sonography students and new staff, handling clerical duties, and maintaining equipment and infection-control policies. Requires an Associate degree with graduation from an accredited program and ARDMS/BLS certifications; pediatric experience is not required but a desire to serve children is essential.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or equivalent
- Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- Licenses and Certifications: BLS Healthcare Provider and ARDMS (or equivalent)
- Experience/Capabilities: General and vascular ultrasound proficiency; ability to review patient history; ability to communicate findings; willingness to supervise/educate students and staff
