Job Summary
Ultrasound Tech role at Carolinas Medical Center within Advocate Health. Key duties include examining requests and verifying orders, assisting Radiologist in invasive procedures, evaluating exam quality and optimizing technique, supporting patient-centered care, reporting equipment malfunctions, operating the Radiology information system (entering and charging exams and supplies), maintaining a clean and stocked work area, and adhering to department regulations. Requires ARDMS or ARRT certification (AB or OB/GYN) and BLS, with education from a diagnostic ultrasound program. Physical requirements include lifting and moving patients/equipment up to 600 pounds with assistance; strong knowledge of growth and development relevant to patient populations; ability to read orders and technical materials and operate imaging equipment safely.
Required Qualifications
- Certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (S). One of the following registries: Abdomen (AB) or Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN). BLS certification.
