Job Summary
Ultrasound Specialist (PRN) performing diagnostic ultrasound exams to support physician evaluation and treatment. Responsibilities include timely transmission of images to PACS, scheduling ultrasound cases with other patient exams, patient education prior to scanning, documenting vitals and procedure notes, maintaining exam data and charts in RIS/HIS, assisting with procedures (e.g., needle biopsies, amniocentesis, renal biopsies), maintaining sterile technique, adhering to department policies, maintaining equipment and supplies, participating in staff meetings and continuing education, and taking call for ultrasound procedures. Supervision of student ultrasound technologists is also listed. Required qualifications include High School Diploma or GED, ARDMS (RDMS) certification within one year of hire, NM licensure (DMS-NM), current BLS, and two years of radiology ultrasound experience; Associate degree is preferred.
