Job Summary
Independently perform and provide diagnostic reports on obstetric screening ultrasound examinations while adhering to departmental guidelines and Trust policies. Coordinate daily operational workload planning when required and maintain effective communication with the ultrasound team, midwives, and obstetricians. Participate in departmental audits, case reviews, and annual appraisings to support reflective practice and continuous professional development. Record care and advice accurately in agreed formats and critically evaluate service pathways.
Required Qualifications
- HCPC registration
- Achieve and maintain a high standard in independently performing a minimum of 95% of all examinations within a defined scope of practice
- Achieve and maintain a high standard in independently providing a diagnostic free text report on at least 95% of the ultrasound examinations undertaken within a defined scope of practice
- Individual responsibility in accepting to undertake any given ultrasound examination, working in accordance with professional body guidance, local ultrasound guidelines and defined scope of practice
- Individual responsibilities for patient/client care, treatment and therapy where appropriate to the examination / area / specialty
- To record care/treatment/advice/tests accurately and in an agreed format
- To work as a reflective practitioner with the responsibility to critically evaluate systems / processes / pathways involved with various areas covered by the ultrasound service
