Job Summary
Ultrasonographer per diem performs non-ionizing diagnostic ultrasound under the direction of the Radiologist and Ultrasound leadership. Responsibilities include moving the transducer across the body to acquire ultrasound patterns, performing abdominal, pelvic, OB-GYN, transvaginal, and small parts sonography, photographing data for interpretation, operating and maintaining ultrasound equipment, instructing patients on exam positioning, and discussing test findings with the radiologist. Requires ARDMS certification (including Physics and anatomic registry), RVT credential within 1 year, CPR certification, and 1-2 years of ultrasound experience with proficiency in abdominal, pelvic, OB-GYN, vascular, and small parts protocols; may be required to learn additional protocols under supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Attended an accredited school for Diagnostic Ultrasound or have equivalent experience
- Must have ARDMS Certification (including Physics and anatomic specific registry)
- Must maintain ARDMS certification
- Must obtain RVT credential within 1 year
- CPR – Current AHA Healthcare Provider Certification / equivalent within 3 months of hire
- Experience: 1-2 years working in an Ultrasound environment required
- Experience in abdominal, pelvic, OB-GYN, vascular, and small parts sonography preferred
