Job Summary
Perform veterinary technician duties in an animal research setting, including independent provision of veterinary clinical care/treatments to mice/rats (triage, injectable, oral, topical medications, and euthanasia); communicate health status with clinical veterinary staff and lab personnel; maintain animal health records and perform drug calculations; assist with care for research animals in ULAR-managed vivaria, including colony maintenance and recordkeeping; operate sterilization equipment and prepare surgical packs; collaborate with veterinary clinicians and investigator staff on treatment options; work extended hours as needed and handle equipment/inventory; familiar with IACUC protocols to ensure investigator compliance; essential personnel with potential after-hours or weekend duties.
Required Qualifications
- High School Grad/GE Degree and 2 to 3 years of experience or AALAS LAT Certification or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
