Job Summary
Linguists to support foreign language and linguistic requirements for YSG/TU, including interpretation, translation, transcription, and other Linguistic Support Services. Roles may be in-person or virtual across current and future government-contract needs. Open evergreen requisition across the portfolio; candidates may be considered for a range of language support roles as opportunities arise. Responsibilities include interpretation in-person/virtual, translation of written/audio/video materials, document review/editing, and foreign language instruction in classroom or virtual environments; additional linguistic services as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Must be qualified/certified at CAT I, CAT II, or CAT III with ILR English proficiency levels (ILR 2+ for CAT I/II; ILR 3 for CAT III)
- Ability to provide idiomatic translations between English and the foreign language
- Ability to conduct consecutive, accurate translation and interpretation
- Experience providing foreign language instruction to adult students
- Familiarity with local culture and customs
- Willingness to live and work in harsh environments and under high pressure
- Ability to function as part of a highly trained professional team
- U.S. citizenship or local national/third country national status as required by category
- Possess or be able to obtain required security clearances (CAT II/III scenarios may involve SECRET/TS/SI access)
- Speak English and foreign language fluently with proper tone and register
- Preserve source tone and register in translations
- General willingness to support multiple language requirements and remote/CONUS assignments
- Additional linguist qualifications may be specified at task order level
