Job Summary
Provide accurate consecutive interpretation in medical settings for Ukrainian speakers as part of a 100% remote team. Initially focused on Over-the-Phone Interpretation (OPI) with a clear path to move into Video Remote Interpretation (VRI). Responsibilities include facilitating communications in medical, social services, and financial contexts, and maintaining terminology accuracy with strong emphasis on medical and customer-service language. Offers flexible scheduling, pay based on interpreted minutes, and opportunities to advance to core staff based on performance. Requires HIPAA and FWA certifications, a background check, and a wired internet connection, along with compatible hardware and up-to-date software. Track record of remote medical interpretation and English proficiency at C1 level is required, with certification options accepted during hiring.
Required Qualifications
- 6 months to 1 year minimum of professional experience in remote medical interpretation
- English proficiency C1
- valid certifications: EF SET (4-Skill), TOEFL, or CAE
- interpretation certification test during the hiring process
- HIPAA and FWA certifications
- willingness to successfully complete a standard background check via email
- hardwired Ethernet connection to router is mandatory (Wi-Fi prohibited)
- USB headset with noise-cancellation
- Windows 10 OS and 4GB RAM
- latest version of Chrome, Safari, or Edge
- HIPAA-compliant working environment
