Job Summary
Ukrainian Distance Learning Associate Language Instructor delivers live virtual distance language instruction and related LREC program support. Responsibilities include providing virtual instruction to improve listening, reading, and speaking proficiency (DLPT, ACTFL, OPI), teaching regional and culture subjects using blended-learning methods, delivering instruction per POI, developing lesson plans, assessing and adapting lessons for ILR levels 0+ to 3, reviewing and grading assignments, maintaining a professional virtual learning environment, and collaborating with Site Lead, POI analyst, or Language Instructional Developer to address curriculum gaps. Location is remote with primary placement at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA (Remote TU Support). Requires US citizenship and native/near-native language ability, virtual instruction experience, cultural awareness, and access to required technology. Desired qualifications include experience with CL-150 or Blackboard and a Bachelor’s degree. Clearance: None.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen
- Educated native speaker of the foreign language or near-native capability in listening, reading, and speaking with ILR 3/3/3 or equivalent
- Experience in providing various levels of foreign language instruction through a virtual environment
- Understanding of the cultural, social, and political environment of the foreign language region
- Experience in creating blended learning lessons and ability to tailor existing materials to customer’s needs
- Instructor must have access to Windows, a computer, webcam, headset with a microphone, a phone or smart tablet, and a high-speed internet connection
