Job Summary
Lead electrical construction activities in the field while planning, coordinating, and overseeing installation activities including work sequencing, layout strategy, and Methods of Procedure. Supervise and develop field personnel including Journeymen and Apprentices, coordinate daily work with other trades, and maintain accurate project documentation. Review drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with codes and standards, monitor productivity, and assist with startup, turnover, and closeout activities. Promote safety excellence through briefings, hazard identification, and enforcing company policies. This role supports Uihlein Electric's mission as Milwaukee's most dependable electrical service provider, requiring a Wisconsin Journeyman or Master Electrician license and IBEW membership.
Required Qualifications
- Current Wisconsin Journeyman or Master Electrician license
- Current IBEW member or willingness to become a union member with company support
- Demonstrated leadership experience in electrical construction, which may include experience as a Lead Journeyman or Foreman
- Ability to successfully lead crews, work areas, or projects of varying size and complexity
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction practices, installation methods, troubleshooting, and material management
- Working knowledge of current NEC requirements and industry best practices
- Effective communication, planning, problem-solving, and team-building skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules
- Able to work off all types of ladders, lifts and elevated platforms (electric or gas powered)
- Able to work at various heights up to 50 feet from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks, or other safe work areas
- Able to work in restricted areas, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces and attics
- Able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead
- Able to carry tools and materials up to 50 pounds from the ground to overhead
- Able to constantly move on feet, climbing ladders and working overhead
- Possess good vision (normal or corrected)
- Must be able to get to various customer sites as required
- Able to work in all elements, depending on job locations and time of year
Desired Qualifications
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Current First Aid/CPR certification preferred
- Data Center experience is a plus but not required
- Fire Alarm experience is a plus but not required
