UI Programmer - (March of Giants)

Job Summary
Develop menu and interface systems for specific users across desired platforms, preserving visual and logistical uniformity. Read game design documents to understand intended player experiences, actively challenge design feedback, and define UI features to support graphic designers. Implement new ideas by collaborating with designers and artists, providing technical, creative, and scheduling feedback while integrating designs and animations. Optimize UI code for efficient performance, develop automated tests APIs, and maintain modules underlying the user interface. Investigate technical limitations regarding performance tracking and memory, apply localization and accessibility features, and ensure continuous health of game systems through debugging tools and internal "debug draw."
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent training or experience
- Minimum 5 years of C++ programming experience in the video game sector or embedded systems, or relevant fields
- Capacity to write clean, robust, performant, and maintainable C++ code
- Excellent understanding of MVVM philosophy and workflows
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices (design reviews, coding standards, code reviews, testing, documentation)
- Solid collaborative and communication skills within a multi-disciplinary environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Unreal Engine 5, Slate and UMG
- Experience with UI Frameworks such as CommonUI
- Experience with MVVM toolchains such as Unreal's MVVM plugin
- Experience working on a PC-centric platform experience
