UI Product Designer

$80,000–$100,000 year

HybridCambridge, Massachusetts, United States

Full TimeMediumAI Software

Job Summary

Prototype in code with Claude Code or Cursor to feel interactions before committing, then own the visual language and design system across CRM, PIM, eCommerce AI, and Order & Quote Entry products. Define how AI appears in the interface, establishing patterns for suggestion, confidence, review, and agent handoff. Work inside an agentic scrum model where cadence follows what teams and agents can ship, while getting in front of customers constantly, including onsite visits at warehouses and sales floors. Set the craft bar by deciding what looks good when software can think, ensuring reps have a modern pleasure to use rather than tolerated legacy patterns.

Required Qualifications

  • Craft that is demonstrably yours
  • Command of typography, layout, color, hierarchy, and iconography
  • Motion when it earns its place
  • Pulling references from well outside software
  • Work that looks like someone made it rather than assembled it
  • Real end-to-end delivery
  • Shipped products
  • Real users
  • Real ownership
  • Hands-on work
  • Daily, hands-on use of AI in your practice
  • Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent
  • Using AI to ship real work rather than generate comps
  • Ability to say concretely how you structure context and check what comes back
  • A portfolio
  • Products or features taken from concept to launch
  • Setting the visual language yourself
  • A workflow found trapped in a legacy system and reimagined
  • Systems thinking
  • Ability to author one beautiful screen and write the rules that let others make fifty consistent ones
  • Curiosity to understand what's cheap to build and what isn't
  • Real agile experience
  • A pull toward customers
  • Work inside traditional scrum
  • Knowing what those rituals were for
  • Helping rebuild agentic scrum
  • Being in the room with a user rather than briefed about them
  • Location: Cambridge, MA (hybrid, 3 days a week in Harvard Square) or remote in the EU

Desired Qualifications

  • Complex B2B, enterprise, or ERP-adjacent software
  • High-frequency users and workflows people can't opt out of
  • Agentic products
  • Patterns for trust, correction, and handoff between a person and an agent
  • Early-stage SaaS startups
