Job Summary
UI Design Lead for Croatia-based Experience & Engineering unit. Lead and mentor a talented team of visual designers in Zagreb or Split, shaping top-tier experiences for international clients. Collaborate with DEPT teams across Europe, set design quality standards for key accounts, ensure timely and within-budget delivery, and foster a people-first team culture. Responsibilities include hands-on design, hiring and developing talent, and driving collaboration with UX design leads to advance capabilities and processes. You’ll operate with a strong portfolio in experience design, lead a team from Junior to Senior levels, champion scalable Design Systems, and uphold WCAG accessibility as a core principle while working with cross-functional teams including UX, Copywriters, and Developers. Proficiency in Figma is essential; Framer/Jitter experience is a major plus. English fluency is required for client-facing communication. Brand design experience is advantageous for creating cohesive identity-to-interface experiences.
Required Qualifications
- Proven track record as a designer with a strong portfolio of experience design for digital platforms
- Experience leading a team of designers (Junior to Senior) with ability to mentor and conduct regular 1-on-1s
- Strong leadership and ability to give constructive feedback
- Expertise in building and maintaining scalable Design Systems
- Strong understanding of WCAG accessibility principles and inclusive usability
- Excellent collaboration skills across cross-functional teams including UX Designers, Copywriters, and Developers
- Mastery of Figma; familiarity with motion design and prototyping tools such as Framer or Jitter a plus
- Awareness of current digital design trends, AI integrations, and technology shifts
- Fluent English for effective communication with executive-level clients and engineers
- Brand Design experience as a plus
