Job Summary
Registered Nurse - Outpatient Surgery (UHC) delivers professional nursing care in an inpatient hospital setting with a focus on the nursing process. Responsibilities include modifying the plan of care based on data, using evidence-based practice to guide patient care, delegating tasks appropriately, and coordinating with interprofessional teams and families to ensure quality outcomes. The role emphasizes education, patient data interpretation, and ongoing professional development; participates in CAPE ladder progression with competency demonstrations, including leadership activities such as charge nurse duties and precepting. Minimum qualifications include an active RN license and Basic Life Support within 30 days; at least 1 year of RN experience. BSN is preferred. The position may require working varied hours and adapting to high-stress conditions, with a commitment to maintaining ethical patient care and life-long learning.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state where services will be provided or multi-state RN license through eNLC
- Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire
- One year of registered nursing experience
