Job Summary
Oversee crews to complete daily tasks related to the construction and maintenance of underground power lines, including installing primary conductors, reconducting, and performing switching procedures to isolate and terminate lines. Coordinate and supervise digging and product placement while driving heavy equipment to job sites. Read blueprints, call in utilities, and manage storm crews to ensure production efficiency and safety compliance. Train new hires and conduct daily toolbox talks and weekly safety inspections. Maintain full responsibility for project quality, timeliness, and crew safety by adhering to higher of MasTec or customer standards. Obtain necessary materials and permits for all projects.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment and general construction.
- 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and space relationships.
- Precise hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
Desired Qualifications
- 6 or more years of experience, including extensive experience supervising and training skilled labor.
