Job Summary
Oversee crews to complete daily tasks for constructing and maintaining underground power lines, including installing primary conductors, reconducting, and performing switching procedures to isolate and splice lines. Coordinate and supervise digging and product placement while driving heavy equipment to job sites. Read blueprints to ensure production efficiency and manage storm crews, logistics, and resource allocation across multiple teams. Facilitate daily toolbox talks, weekly safety inspections, and utility call-outs, training new hires to learn the trade. Maintain full responsibility for project quality, timeliness, and crew safety by ensuring compliance with higher of MasTec or customer standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment and general construction.
- 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and space relationships.
- Precise hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
Desired Qualifications
- 6 or more years of experience, including extensive experience supervising and training skilled labor.
