Job Summary
The UG Safety & Contractor Compliance Coordinator is responsible for contractor health and safety governance across underground operations and project-driven work. This role includes leading contractor health and safety management system implementation, overseeing contractor prequalification and selection, ensuring compliance with MSHA regulations, and providing field oversight to manage safety performance. The coordinator will conduct risk assessments, participate in incident investigations, and support emergency preparedness. A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field and 5 years of underground mining experience are required, along with strong knowledge of MSHA regulations and contractor safety management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Mining, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in an underground mining environment
- Strong working knowledge of MSHA regulations
- Demonstrated experience managing contractor safety performance on capital projects
- MSHA-authorized trainer for the mining industry
- MSHA Blue Card holder for underground operations
