UG Fixed Maintenance Planner

Job Summary
Develop detailed weekly and daily maintenance plans for underground fixed assets, ensuring work is prioritized and scheduled efficiently. Create comprehensive job plans including labor requirements, tools, permits, and spare parts while coordinating planned shutdowns to minimize production interruptions. Review the maintenance backlog to prioritize work based on safety, equipment criticality, and business objectives, ensuring all work orders are complete and closed out within the CMMS. Collaborate with reliability teams to identify recurring failures and implement permanent corrective actions, while optimizing labor utilization across maintenance crews and contractors. Verify Bill of Materials and maintain accurate spare parts information, ensuring all activities comply with mine safety regulations and incorporate required hazard analyses.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in underground mining, heavy industry, mineral processing, or related industrial operations
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a Maintenance Planner or Maintenance Scheduler role
- Experience coordinating shutdowns and major maintenance activities
- Strong understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance principles
- Strong knowledge of underground mining maintenance practices
- Excellent planning, scheduling, and organizational skills
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and technical documentation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple departments
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced mining environment
- Knowledge of maintenance KPIs and reliability concepts
- Understanding of risk management and safe work planning
Desired Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical discipline
- Trade qualification as a Mechanical, Millwright, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance Technician
- Maintenance Planning & Scheduling certification
- Training in CMMS software (SAP PM, Pronto, Maximo, or similar)
- Demonstrated experience using CMMS systems such as SAP PM, IBM Maximo, Pronto, Oracle, or similar
- Experience supporting underground fixed plant equipment, including: Crushers, Conveyors, Ore handling systems, Pumps, Ventilation systems, Dewatering systems, Hoists, Paste fill systems, Underground infrastructure
