Job Summary
Electrical Engineer (Power Distribution) to support Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) operations in Carlsbad, NM. Responsibilities include performing engineering calculations and analyses, producing rigorous documentation to support design decisions, interfacing with QA, Procurement, Project Management, and Operations, providing technical field leadership to address equipment malfunctions, maintaining system configuration documents and health indicators, and conducting system health walk downs/reports. Must obtain/maintain annual training, perform electrical modifications/evaluations of existing systems, conduct routine inspections for adherence to building/construction codes/regulations, and follow design change and configuration control processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree (preferred); Professional Engineer license acceptable alternative
- US Citizenship
- Experience with NFPA 70 (preferred)
- Experience with NFPA 70E (preferred)
- Knowledge of Low Voltage and Lighting in an industrial process (desired)
