Job Summary
The Group Teacher is responsible for leading the learning environment following the Creative Curriculum approach to foster children's development across various domains. The role includes implementing activities for child advancement, adhering to performance standards, preparing teacher assistants, participating in meetings and training, maintaining communication with parents, and ensuring confidentiality. Candidates must hold a BA/BS, with a preference for a Masters in Early Childhood Education, possess a valid NYS teaching certification, and have 2-5 years of experience working with young children.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS required
- Initial, or Permanent B-2 or N-6 NYS teaching certification
- 2-5 years of experience working with children ages 2 - 5 in a classroom setting
- Must clear DOE fingerprinting and background authorizations
- Ability to demonstrate proactive leadership, initiative, positive problem solving, decision-making, and the ability to work in a team context
- Maintain confidentiality
Desired Qualifications
- Masters in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Bilingual Spanish or Bengali a plus
Additional Requirements
- The group teacher shall meet the requirements set by the Agency for NYC Department of Education.
