Job Summary
Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to system integration, performance, and deployment for uncrewed systems. Implement and maintain system configurations, ensuring optimal performance, security, and stability across Linux-based environments and containerized applications. Develop comprehensive documentation including configuration guides, troubleshooting procedures, and knowledge base articles. Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems integration processes and tools while performing system installation and support for fielded systems. Collaborate with development teams to analyze complex structures and their interactions. This role resides within Leidos' Defense, Uncrewed Systems Integration and Test division, supporting customers worldwide with mission-critical security solutions. On-site work is required with up to 25% travel; applicants must be a U.S. citizen with an active or obtainable Final Secret Clearance.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in computer science or related technical degree plus 2-4 years of prior relevant experience
- MS degree in computer science or related technical degree plus 1-2 years of prior relevant experience
- Strong understanding of Linux operating systems, including system administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical team members
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Possess an active secret clearance or able to obtain and maintain a Final Secret Clearance
- On-site work (no remote/hybrid options)
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and troubleshooting
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Security+ Certification
- Must reside in the Huntsville, AL or willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Linux systems administration
- Experience working with UAS systems
- Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies such as QEMU-KVM, Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with advanced network configuration and management, including managed switches and firewalls
- IAT Level II or Linux OS based certification
