Job Summary
Operate UAS missions via software-based control systems and real-time dashboards, planning deployments while balancing weather, logistics, and operational constraints. Manage site logistics including travel, access, and contingencies, then monitor missions in real time to intervene when required. Capture, review, and validate inspection data, while analyzing system outputs and logs to provide structured feedback between field operations and engineering. Maintain high safety and operational standards across all environments. Split time between live field deployments across the UK and planning, analysis, and preparation at the Chichester base. This role suits candidates combining proven operational experience with a disciplined, detail-oriented approach to field work.
Required Qualifications
- Based in the UK, with unrestricted right to work
- Full UK manual driving licence
- Willingness to travel frequently across the UK
- Demonstrable experience operating UAS, field survey equipment, or similar technical systems in a professional, research, or operational context
- Strong technology literacy, developed through relevant work or field experience
- Confidence working independently in field-based environments
- Clear, structured communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience designing, building, or developing such systems
- A background in a field that involves working with technical systems, equipment, or data in real-world environments - UAS operations, field survey, inspection, ROV operations, or similar
- A track record of using technical field equipment, UAS, or similar tools purposefully in an operational or professional context - not just recreationally
- A genuine appetite for field work: you're as comfortable on a wind-swept site as you are in front of a screen
- An innate curiosity about technology
- Excellent communication skills
- You think systematically and plan ahead, rather than reacting on the fly
- You exercise good judgement when conditions are uncertain
- You take a structured, detail-oriented approach to execution
- You're comfortable owning outcomes, not just completing tasks
