Job Summary
Plan, organize, and execute medium to high complexity utility infrastructure projects while managing budgets, schedules, and client specifications. Directly supervise Project Supervisors and Coordinators, leading hiring, evaluations, and career development. Serve as the single point of contact for clients on deliverables, troubleshooting complex issues and driving production targets. Provide daily on-site field support, conducting audits, verifying data collection, and performing light maintenance on utility poles. Lead the team in safety programs, quality assurance, and goal setting while managing time and attendance. Collaborate on budget and proposal development, ensuring accurate billing and invoice approvals. Navigate varied terrains and weather conditions using GPS and hand-held technology to maintain data integrity and enforce housing conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High-school diploma
- Minimum of 4 years relevant utility infrastructure experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, influence and direct team members
- Exhibits a growth mindset
- Willingness to further develop in a leadership role
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and work with limited direct supervision
- Understanding of operations, processes, and standards in the utility industry or related field
- Understanding of contracts
- Minimum 2 years of experience in project planning or construction management
- Obtain and maintain professional certificates and licenses commensurate with project requirements
- Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, anticipate consequences and implement resources
- Electric hazard identification, electric equipment identification, and communication equipment identification capability
- Demonstrated proficiency in basic office applications and data entry
- Willingness to learn mapping collection software applications
- Exemplary communication skills including written and verbal
- Ability to write instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Ability to draft intelligible, professional, and accurate correspondence
- Effectively and clearly communicate and present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients and other employees
- Perform basic arithmetic computations
- Apply understanding to carry out detailed instructions
- Identify, address, and resolve problems in varied situations
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Valid driver's license
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report
- Must attend and pass the Davey Driver's Safety Course
- Must be available for up to 75% travel
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- 5+ years prior utility mapping experience, including both Joint Use Audits and Inventory/Verifications
- 3 years of experience in project management, project planning, or construction management
