Job Summary
Calibrate, repair and maintain mechanical and dimensional measuring and test equipment (M&TE); apply knowledge of measurement science, mathematics, physics, and electronics to ensure measurement accuracy; identify and follow calibration procedures and record results; use high-precision instruments (e.g., alignment telescopes, autocollimators, theodolites, micrometers, gage blocks, dial indicators, bore gauges) and adapt equipment to meet testing needs; determine salvageability and advise on equipment purchases or disposal; perform housekeeping and interface with internal customers and external vendors. This is a 1st shift, on-site calibration role at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Linthicum, MD, requiring a candidate who can function in a unionized environment and meet government-clearance-related requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or recognized equivalent
- Certificate in mechanical/dimensional metrology or other comparable certification in metrology techniques
- Minimum six months military metrology school or equivalent, plus two years working experience in maintenance and repair of mechanical and dimensional measuring and test equipment
- Three years prior experience as a Dimensional Calibration Technician or five years practical experience in calibration and instrumentation measurement in military/defense industry

- U.S. Citizenship is required for all positions with a government clearance
