Job Summary
Senior leader responsible for end-to-end U.S. nursery order fulfillment, regulatory compliance, cold chain logistics, and cross-functional collaboration across domestic and international plant movement. Drives continuous improvement, enterprise-level value, and scalable solutions by leveraging data analytics (Tableau/BI), developing KPIs and SOPs, managing OMS/PBS systems, and coordinating with USDA/CDFA/regional agents to ensure phytosanitary compliance. Leads a multidisciplinary team, manages transportation strategy and budgets, and partners with operations, R&D, quality, and third-party providers to align logistics with enterprise priorities. Requires ~25% travel domestically/internationally; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science, Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred (not required)
- minimum 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain roles involving regulated agricultural products
- deep working knowledge of phytosanitary regulations (USDA, CDFA, county-level requirements, and international import/export protocols)
- experience in process improvement, operational excellence, and change management; Lean, Six Sigma, or similar training preferred
- strong background in transportation management, including carrier sourcing, contract negotiation, and cost optimization
