Job Summary
Provide in-person interpretation at client service sites for Tzotzil-speaking minors, relay deadlines/instructions to minors in their native language, assist minors in communicating concerns to staff, provide translation services to help orient minors to community resources, and support staff by conveying cultural context. Role emphasizes impartial, confidential interpretation with high ethical standards, primarily in-person with possible telephone, videoconference, or other virtual support; may require 24/7 availability. Proficiency in English and Tzotzil (ILR 2+) is required; valid driver’s license; U.S. work authorization without sponsorship; travel across U.S. to client sites; temporary, full-time position with duties that may vary by client needs; experience in foster care or medical care settings preferred; compliance with Service Contract Act and wage determinations.
