Job Summary
Assistant Teacher at The Goddard School in Raleigh, NC: support the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans, engage children in social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions, prepare classroom materials and maintain a safe, clean, inviting learning environment, supervise and provide individualized support to children, communicate with families about children’s progress, adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations, support daily care routines to foster a nurturing learning environment and contribute to a supportive, collaborative team.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
- Shows empathy and compassion for young children
- Works productively without supervision
- Basic understanding of child development
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
- Must pass required state background checks and meet state minimum education, experience and credential requirements
