Job Summary
Drive delivery vehicles and truck-trailer combinations to transport building materials to customer sites, weighing over 26,000 pounds. Load and secure product, maneuver vehicles for unloading, and assist customers with material removal while verifying order details against invoices. Maintain logs for deliveries, mileage, and DVIR compliance using handheld devices, and perform routine safety checks and pre/post trip inspections. Operate forklifts or material handling equipment for loading and offloading, and handle credit or product return pick-ups. This role requires a Class B CDL license, valid MVR, DOT medical card, and ability to lift up to 100 pounds frequently. Earn $22–$28 hourly at Builders FirstSource, America's largest supplier of building materials.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 21+ years old
- valid driver's license
- Class B CDL license
- 1 year of delivery driving experience
- Pass MVR report
- Obtain a DOT medical card within five (5) days of a request
- Have less than 5 moving violations in the last 5 years
- Basic math & measurement skills
- Ability to read and speak the English language
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds frequently
- Must be able to physically operate delivery vehicles (climb up and down into cab, twist torso for 360-degree visibility, use arms to operate controls, etc.)
