Job Summary
Architect, design and build scalable backend systems for Coupang's TW Online Service, partnering with Product and tech teams to drive customer acquisition, experience, and retention. Lead the architecture roadmaps for distributed, high-concurrency services, and collaborate with global teams across China and Korea to improve platform efficiency, reliability, and performance. Requires 10+ years of engineering leadership, deep Java backend expertise, and a strong track record in designing microservices, distributed architectures, and scalable systems; strong communication and ownership mindset; ecommerce domain experience is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor/Master in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent fields
- 10+ years of industry experience of increasing responsibility leading a group of engineers
- 5+ years of experience in software development in large distributed systems, web services and Java capability
- Experience in designing and implementing high-concurrency, high-availability, and high-scalability systems
- Familiar with distributed system architecture, microservice architecture and design, and message queue, cache, database core backend knowledge
- Growth mindset and data-driven problem solving
- Strong ownership and urgency, dive deep
- Experience working closely with global distributed teams
