Job Summary
Architect, design and build scalable backend systems for Coupang's Taiwan-focused platforms; collaborate with Product and tech teams in China and Korea; drive architectural roadmaps and continuous improvement across high-concurrency, high-availability systems for advertising/CRM/audience platforms; require strong Java backend expertise, distributed systems knowledge, and English communication; 10+ years leadership experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor/Master/PhD in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent fields
- 10+ years of industry experience of increasing responsibility leading a group of engineers
- 5+ years of experience in software development in large distributed systems, web services and Java capability
- Experience in designing and implementing high-concurrency, high-availability, and high-scalability systems
- Familiar with distributed system architecture, microservice architecture and design, and message queue, cache, database etc core backend knowledge
- Growth mindset, company-wide perspective
- Strong competency in delivering results in an environment of rapidly changing requirements with appropriate trade-offs
- Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and dive deep
- Experience working closely with global distributed teams
