Job Summary
Part-time TV Broadcast Operator responsible for master control duties in a multi-channel, news-intensive broadcast environment. Responsibilities include monitoring on-air and streaming platforms, managing automated playlists, ensuring FCC compliance, maintaining daily operation logs, ingesting/editing/quality-controlling content prior to air, troubleshooting in real time, and operating broadcast equipment such as routers, video servers, microwave and satellite control systems. Must maintain high attention to detail, operate under deadlines, and communicate effectively with station staff across shifts to ensure accurate and timely transmission.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to accurately log, key, and manage number and letter sequences
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proven ability to work within deadlines and make quick, accurate decisions
- Knowledge of Windows-based computer platforms
- Experience with automated computer systems and software
- Ability to read and interpret electronic monitoring equipment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work first, second, and third shifts as needed
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Broadcast Technology, Communications, Media Production, Engineering, or related field
- Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Technology, Communications, Media Production, Engineering, or related field
- Experience in master control operations
- Knowledge of FCC regulations and broadcast industry standards
- Experience with video servers, routers, microwave systems, satellite control systems, and broadcast automation software
- Familiarity with broadcast operations, quality control, and television production environments
