Job Summary
Conduct structured tutoring for small groups of students across all subjects and grade levels using provided curriculum. Review baseline data to tailor instruction to individual needs while coaching students in personal organization, study skills, and problem-solving strategies. Take daily attendance and tutoring notes via mobile device, communicating professionally with school staff and leadership. Work part-time during the school day at assigned NYC sites, seeing 4-5 groups daily. Requires a Bachelor's degree, one year of teaching or tutoring experience, and reliable transportation to commute across the city.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, completed (or near completion) with strong academic performance
- At least one year of experience teaching or tutoring in a school setting
- Strong content knowledge in your subject area(s)
- Experience working in urban school communities and an understanding of common student challenges
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to student growth
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage students
- Ability to commute to assigned NYC schools
