Job Summary
Lead the Sonographer development program across Tasmania by supervising students from initial to final scanning stages. Provide clinical leadership and training while managing a predominantly supervisory role over multiple students without a dedicated clinical line. Maintain high standards within an inviting teaching environment alongside the ultrasound leadership team. The role offers a hybrid opportunity for limited scanning combined with mentorship. This 12-month fixed-term contract is based in Hobart with return travel and accommodation provided, ideal for candidates with 3+ years of experience seeking to shape the next generation of sonographers.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate Diploma in Medical Sonography or equivalent as accredited by ASAR
- ~3+ years of experience as a Sonographer
- General to advanced skills in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Breast, MSK and Vascular studies
- Well developed teaching skills
- Leadership
- Demonstrated ability to lead change through quality and service improvement activities for the Sonography services
- Flexibility to supervise students to develop their skills
- Demonstrated advanced level communication and interpersonal skills when dealing with staff and patients
- The ability to provide clinical supervision, leadership and training to staff
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
