Job Summary
Facilitate small group instruction and provide one-on-one homework support to students in a safe, nurturing environment. Prepare and supervise after-school activities, including implementing the program curriculum for intervention and enrichment. Supervise individual and group students in and outside the classroom while fostering a learning environment for all. Prepare instructional materials, clean and prepare the room before, during, and after the program, and assist in delivering snacks. Maintain accurate records such as attendance, time sheets, and incident reports, and report student or parent concerns to the coordinator. Redirect inappropriate behaviors and implement the program discipline system to monitor and guide proper student conduct. Participate in professional development training as necessary. This part-time, hourly role supports PUC Schools' mission to increase graduation rates for underserved students in North-East Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley.
Required Qualifications
- High School degree or GED
- Prior experience working with students in a learning environment
- Education student working towards a teaching credential
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Must be flexible and team-oriented
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethic, accountability, and ownership of work
- Regular attendance, dependability, and punctuality
Desired Qualifications
- AA or higher
- Bilingual in Spanish
