Job Summary
Connect parents to school resources and facilitate communication between families, culture instructors, teachers, and community agencies. Collect and report learner data to school teams, evaluate student records, and assist in developing services that address social, academic, and cultural needs. Promote and supervise community cultural projects while monitoring grades to support student transitions from pre-k through post-secondary. Spend approximately one-third of time at each school site, one-third supporting Tribal programs, and one-third engaging in professional development. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to maximize educational opportunities for Alaska Native and American Indian students and families.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field, or a combination of education and experience may be substituted for a degree
- One year (1) of experience working with youth
- Must have a valid Alaska State driver's license and must remain insurable under the Tribe's policy, or obtain within 90 days of hire, or, with approval of the hiring manager, sign a *Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in lieu of having a driver's license to perform the required duties of the position
- Must be a Public Notary or obtain within 90 days of hire
- Must be self-motivated, organized, and reliable
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, or obtain training within 90 days of hire
