Job Summary
Tutor at IDEA Harlingen Academy providing targeted one-on-one support to help students progress toward college readiness. Responsibilities include effective facilitation and use of technology to improve student achievement, implementing a clear behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives, shaping a positive school culture, building trust with students and families, identifying concepts to teach or reteach from student notes, conducting tutoring sessions in math/science or language arts/humanities, facilitating mini-lessons across writing processes, and collaborating with the college counseling team to monitor progress. Minimum 10-20 hours per week on-site, with a compensation rate of $12.50 hourly. Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 48 hours of college credit with a minimum 2.5 GPA OR two years of full-time instructional experience in a K-12 school
- Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adjust and adapt to various school environments
- Knowledge of subject assigned
- Creative problem solving and team skills
- Willingness to conduct tutoring sessions in all areas of writing and study skills as part of college preparation
