Job Summary
Tutor I responsible for providing advice and resources at every stage of the writing process to students under supervision, including assisting with formatting papers and citations in MLA/APA/Chicago styles, helping brainstorm ideas, formulating clear thesis statements, clarifying instructions, teaching proofreading, and ensuring proper citation; will learn professors' requirements to help students meet criteria for well-composed papers, work closely with ADA students, and assist with research processes. Responsibilities include meeting with students individually and in small groups, guiding critical thinking through prewriting, drafting, revising, proofreading and editing, researching and developing writing aids, and leading workshops on elements of writing. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent, one year of related experience; preferred majors in English or Liberal Arts; proficiency with Outlook, Word, and Google Docs. This is a security-sensitive, part-time role; applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. Location: Bryan, TX (on-site); additional details available through System Offices.
