Job Summary
Plan and deliver workshop-led lessons on cultural studies, visual culture, and brand activism within the Foundation in Fashion & Design programme. Prepare teaching materials, briefs, and course documentation while connecting theory to concrete fashion and design examples. Facilitate group projects, class workshops, and oral presentations as core assessment modes, providing formative and summative feedback with transparency. Guide students in building critical analytical skills through mentorship, critique sessions, and project guidance, fostering respectful debate and professional conduct. Deliver sensitive cultural topics with tact and awareness of the UAE's multicultural context, collaborating with the Programme Coordinator and Director of Education.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cultural Studies, Communication, Media, Sociology, International/Cultural Studies, Art History, or a related discipline with a critical-cultural orientation
- Demonstrable engagement with the creative and/or cultural industries
- Ability to bridge cultural theory with fashion, design, and brand communication
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong facilitation ability
- Cultural sensitivity
- UAE residency
Desired Qualifications
- Professional practice as a curator, communicator, cultural producer, or equivalent
- Teaching, tutoring, or facilitation experience with young or foundation-level cohorts (17–19)
- Ability to make theoretical content accessible across mixed English and maturity levels
- A clear, student-centred pedagogical approach
- Ability to engage early-stage learners through interactive, workshop-led delivery rather than lecture alone
- Education Qualification Equivalency from the Ministry of Education in the UAE (or willingness to obtain)
