Job Summary
Provide high-quality individual and small-group tutoring for students in grades K–8, delivering targeted instruction in reading, mathematics, language arts, science, and homework support. Assess academic strengths and areas for growth to develop individualized learning strategies, while reinforcing classroom instruction and helping students master grade-level standards. Plan and facilitate engaging academic enrichment activities that integrate literacy, STEM, and project-based learning, utilizing educational technology to enhance instruction. Monitor student attendance, participation, and progress by maintaining accurate records of sessions, assessments, and growth, communicating outcomes with supervisors, school personnel, and families. Foster a positive learning environment where students feel safe and motivated, serving as a role model who promotes responsibility and academic excellence. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and program staff to support student achievement and participate in professional learning opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, or a related field
- Minimum of two years of experience tutoring or teaching elementary or middle school students
- Demonstrated knowledge of K–8 academic standards and instructional strategies
- Experience supporting students in reading and mathematics intervention
- Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
- Ability to successfully pass criminal background, child abuse registry, and drug screening requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
- Georgia Teaching Certificate or current teacher certification
- Experience providing academic intervention or Response to Intervention (RTI) support
- Experience working in after-school or extended learning programs
- Knowledge of literacy and math intervention strategies
- Experience using educational technology and online learning platforms
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
