Job Summary
Collaborate with teachers and administrators to implement instructional strategies and assessment techniques for kindergarten through fifth-grade students. Assist children in developing reading and math skills through one-on-one or small group academic activities while utilizing assessment data to guide instructional design. Support school improvement teams by analyzing data on student achievement, maintaining confidentiality, and participating in Professional Learning Communities as needed. Maintain effective working relationships with staff and programs while adhering to Title I regulations and state standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university
- Three years' successful classroom teaching
- Licensed as a teacher in North Carolina
- Employee must be self-motivated, self-directed, collaborative, flexible, and highly organized
- Knowledge of educational curriculum, state standards, instructional methodology, and technology
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers, administrators, and classified personnel
- Ability to work with a variety of staff, programs, and activities
- Possess a general working knowledge of Title I regulations, goals, and objectives, particularly school-wide programs
- Understand the growth and development of students in assigned school
- Experience with closing the achievement gap and raising test scores
- Understanding of Common Core and Essential Standards
- Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
- Must be able to perform medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift objects
- Must possess the visual acuity to operate required office equipment and inspect work for accuracy, thoroughness, and adherence to work standards and instructions
