Job Summary

Deliver exceptional hospitality and upscale cocktail service to Yaamava' guests in premier rooms, the Y-Lounge, banquets, and Casino areas. Engage patrons with personalized attention, enforce responsible alcohol service policies, and collect accurate payments using the cash and carry system. Maintain strict adherence to Yaamava' Service and Brand Standards while ensuring workspace cleanliness and proper beverage tray setup. Achieve a minimum 95% score on service and alcohol awareness tests before solo shifts. Complete ongoing Forbes training and periodic assessments. Work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts in a fast-paced environment, traveling to trade shows and conferences as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum six (6) months related experience or training
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
  • Ability to manage cash transactions accurately and securely
  • Ability to provide friendly and efficient service to guests and team members, addressing their needs and resolving issues
  • Ability to have clear and effective communication with guests and team members
  • Ability to work under pressure by staying calm and efficient during busy period(s)
  • Current Food Handler's card
  • Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification
  • Ability to travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences
  • Ability to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
  • Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally
  • Close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility
  • Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties
  • Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours
  • Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone
  • Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference and over the telephone
  • Ability to present a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance in accordance with departmental policy

Desired Qualifications

  • High degree of alcohol expertise, including the numerous types of spirits, beer, wine, and cocktails available, and the appropriate garnish and presentation standards
  • Knowledge of all pricing and menu items, including but not limited to ingredients, allergens, preparation, and presentation
  • Correct understanding of all beverage prices to date
  • Ability to inform patrons of food and beverage specials as well as upcoming and ongoing promotions and events
  • Ability to achieve a minimum score of 95% on service standards, food, liquor, wine, beer, alcohol awareness, and point-of-sale tests before working a solo shift
  • Ability to pass periodic quizzes and assessments
  • Ability to complete ongoing Forbes training(s) as assigned
