Job Summary
Senior Vice President in Turnaround & Restructuring (Tokyo-based) delivering client solutions across service offerings with a mix of in-person client/site or office work and remote work; requires 8+ years of restructuring or advisory experience, university degree with post-graduate qualification preferred (CPA/CFA), strong financial analysis and modelling skills, cash flow and balance sheet restructuring expertise, debt rescheduling capabilities, and experience with distressed sales and contingency planning; expects travel, multi-project delivery, and high performance in a fast-paced environment; must be able to communicate effectively in English and Japanese, exhibit leadership and coaching abilities, and be proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of relevant restructuring / distressed experience
- University degree, ideally with a post graduate qualification (e.g. CPA, CFA or equivalent)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Japanese and English
- Experience with cash and working capital management
- Building, reviewing and maintaining short term cash flow models
- Balance sheet restructurings
- Formulating, reviewing and analyzing business plans and financial forecasts
- Independent business reviews
- Supporting bilateral or syndicated debt holders to reschedule, restructure or refinance their exposures
- Schemes of Arrangement
- Distressed sales
- Winding down of business and/or company
- Experience with overseas turnaround and restructuring outside of Japan
- Willingness to travel
- Willingness to work outside of normal business hours
- Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment
