Job Summary
Prepare written inquiries or obtain verbal quotes for vendor-supplied construction materials, permanent facility equipment, and replacement parts. Evaluate vendor bids based on price, delivery dates, and past performance to select successful bidders, then negotiate terms and issue purchase orders and change orders. Expedite awarded orders to ensure timely delivery and coordinate invoice problems with vendors and accounting. Maintain files for third-party rental contracts, renewals, and terminations while establishing working contacts with sales and vendor representatives. Some weekends and overtime may be required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- at least six (6) years of experience
- Working knowledge of procurement techniques, procedures, policies, accounting, and business contract laws
- Ability to work individually and make decisions
- Ability to reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see and to perform repetitive motions
- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
- Sitting most of the time
