Turf and Grounds Assistant

Job Summary
Support field preparation and game-day execution for Commanders home games while operating, inspecting, and maintaining a wide range of turf and groundskeeping equipment. Develop preventative maintenance programs for all machinery and enhance landscaping across Northwest Stadium grounds. Perform painting, field layout, and turf management for various professional athletic surfaces, and assist in planning and execution of large-scale events including concerts and international soccer matches. Requires an associate degree in Sports Turf, valid driver's license, and ability to obtain Maryland Pesticide and Fertilizer Applicator Licenses within six months. Must work outdoors in varying conditions, lift 50 pounds, and maintain flexibility for extended hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Sports Turf or related program
- Flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work outdoors in varying and extreme weather conditions
- Must be able to obtain a Maryland Pesticide/Herbicide Applicator License within 6 months of hire
- Must be able to obtain a Maryland Fertilizer Applicator License within 6 months of hire
