Job Summary

Turbomachinery Engineer to own real hardware from day one, collaborating with senior engineers and founders on compressor and turbine design, analysis, and test. Responsibilities include designing and analyzing turbomachinery components, building analytical models (hand calcs, 1D cycle, FEA, CFD), turning design intent into production-ready drawings, coordinating with manufacturing, supporting component and rig test campaigns with instrumentation and data collection, spending time on the shop floor and in test cells to understand hardware behavior, documenting work through models and test reports, and taking increasing ownership of discrete components over time. Preferred qualifications include propulsion or high-performance rotating machinery experience, CAD proficiency, programming for analysis/data reduction (Python/MATLAB), and hands-on machining/fabrication/assembly experience. The role emphasizes ownership, rapid growth, and working in a startup environment with broad responsibilities and minimal organizational layers.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 2+ years of relevant industry experience, or M.S. in a related field.
  • Strong fundamentals in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, structures, and heat transfer.
  • Some hands-on hardware experience through internship, research, or personal projects.
  • Comfortable in a shop or lab environment.
  • Clear written and verbal communicator.
  • High ownership mindset.
