Job Summary

Turbine/Generator Project Manager responsible for managing turbine generator projects and associated maintenance, upgrades, installations, and outages. Lead cross-functional teams, coordinate internal and external resources, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with high quality and customer satisfaction. Develop and maintain the Turbine/Generator Long Range Plan, review budgets and contracts, manage scope, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communications. Lead from requirements definition through implementation, assign resources, monitor performance, and ensure safety and compliance. Travel to support fleet outages and field execution; strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills required.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or higher with 8 years’ experience OR a bachelor’s degree or higher with five years’ experience
  • 5-8 years of project management experience, preferably with steam turbine projects
  • experience in construction management or the power generation industry is beneficial
  • Four years’ experience at a commercial nuclear power plant (preferred)
  • PMP or IPMA certification is desired; will be required within 2 years of becoming the Project Manager
  • Strong understanding of steam turbine design, assembly, repair, and auxiliary systems
  • Knowledge of turbine thermodynamics and relevant industry standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.), ERP systems (like SAP or Maximo), and other relevant software
  • Essential skills include leadership, communication, negotiation, problem-solving, organization, and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a matrix structure
  • Strong written and oral/verbal communication skills, including the ability to make formal presentations to management
  • Ability to access all areas of a customer site, including confined spaces and heights
  • The work environment includes office and field settings, with travel to support fleet outages, meetings and project execution/evaluation

Desired Qualifications

  • PMP or IPMA certification desired (required within 2 years of becoming Project Manager)
  • Experience with steam turbine projects
  • Construction management or power generation industry experience helpful
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, problem-solving, organization, and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP or Maximo)
