Tuia Ngā Taura Kaiāwhina works alongside whānau to conduct whānau hauora assessments (WHA) during home visits or by phone, provides health and social service education with referrals as needed, advocates for whānau at appointments, participates in multidisciplinary care planning, escalates clinical concerns to nurses or GPs, and represents the team to external services to encourage referrals; aligns with high clinical and cultural standards, participates in CQI activities, and integrates kaupapa Māori values to strengthen whānau capability and improve tamariki health outcomes through whānau-centred practice.
